The 2007 elections confirmed that there are institutional, individual and cultural reasons that explain women's low participation in politics in Colombia. This publication analyzes the electoral results in the departments of Boyacá, Córdoba, Meta, Risaralda, and Tolima. It also presents the results of citizen deliberation that involved important groups, including but not limited to civil society, academy, party dissidents and media; regarding the perspectives of women's participation in politics.
