AC-Colombia ahora:

AC-COLOMBIA reports its successful experiences at the World Bank meeting: “Expanding Good Governance in Latin America and the Caribbean: Strategic Directions and Operational Innovations” held in Washington D.C. on the 4th February 2010.

On 4 February 2010, AC-Colombia was invited by the World Bank to present two successful examples of its work on the promotion of good governance, participation, citizen control and accountability.

The aim of the meeting was to identify the key aspects of good governance needed to strengthen the strategic and practical ways of promoting access to information, citizen participation and accountability in World Bank projects.

In the panel session titled “Innovative Demand-Side Tools for Monitoring World Bank Projects’ Performance and Risks”, Luis Fernando Velásquez Leal, Executive Director, spoke of the experiences of two AC-Colombia projects. The first of these was “Institutional Action and Juvenile Social Control in the Inversion of Public Health Resources” in 2005 and the second, “Linking Citizenship and its Organizations to the Institutional Control Processes of the Supreme Court of Audit in Honduras”, 2008.
