AC-Colombia chairs a virtual discussion forum on “Civil Society and Supreme Audit Institutions: Citizen Participation and Accountability of Institutional Control in Latin America” organized by the CEDDET Foundation and Spain’s Court of Audit.

Led by the Education Centre for Distance Learning for Economic and Technological Development Foundation (CEDDET) and Spain’s Court of Audit, AC-Colombia hosts a virtual forum discussion on “Civil Society and Supreme Audit Institutions: Citizen Participation and Accountability of Institutional Control in Latin America.” The forum was chaired by Luis Fernando Velásquez Leal, Executive Director, AC- Colombia.

This forum, aimed at representatives of the Latin American Supreme Audit Institutions, members of the Latin American Audit Network, aimed to analyze the advances in and the challenges to the promotion of citizen participation and the accountability of institutional control brought about by efforts by the Latin American Supreme Audit Institutions. These efforts were judged in terms of access to information, implementation of mechanisms for citizen participation and their results as well as the development of effective alliances in civil society necessary for accountability.
