Community building of environmental stands at the November 11th Neighborhood in Santa Marta

In order to promote reintegration of displaced populations by the internal conflict and strengthen social capital, AC-Colombia financed by the Colombian High Presidential Counselor’s Office for Reintegration, - HCR began a process of promotion and community organization with the inhabitants of the November 11th Neighborhood.

Such initiative, as a byproduct of a public deliberation process was drawn to target the structural improvement of a micro soccer field; build environmental stands and installing Urban Recycling Units, -URU for a systematic and organized recollection of residues.

Adjustment of the micro soccer field will facilitate its use for cultural activities and entertainment and community events.

The community organization process involved an important group of internally displaced persons, beneficiaries of the reintegration programs developed by the High Presidential Counselor’s Office, the Community Action Board from the November 11th Neighborhood, its Community Development Corporation and the inhabitants of this neighborhood.
